Hi, are you a student of erasmus project? also I run 100m, what is your
personal best? mine is 10"92. I'm interesting about how is now your training, what kind of methods do you use? concurrent, block periodization or pendular/waves training? do
you use a short to long or a long to short progression? one of my
hobbies is studing and trying new way of training so maybe we can have something to speak about. :-D

yep, you can send to xelades@gmail.com. "short to long" or "long to short" are 2 differents approachs to training speed (the third option is "both
to the middle"); for first time it was developed in est europe
(poland, east-german and bulgaria) but then it was welcomed by some
succesfull coach in north america as Dan Pfaff, John Smith (but he's
much for "both to the middle" philosphy) (althought maybe the first coach to use this idea was the coach of "olimpic scandal" ben johnson, charlie
francis) and now it's maybe the more widespread approach in USA (in opposite for example jamaican sprinters use long to short way, they start their season training with overdistance runs till 400m and than during preparation period they
shortening the distance and do max speed work in last period before
competitions). of course the opposite (short to long) approach starts with
acceleration work and than develope max velocity, and for last thing
(but during this period you also maintaing your acquired level of acceleration
and Vmax) it's trained the speed endurance.
good luck with your races during this weekend!

uff.. my english is too poor.. I will try explain my way of training..

In september we run 30min, farlet.. aerobic train

In october- december 3 days weigh, 1day velocity (30 or 50) 1 day long distances (6 or 8 x150 90% more and less..) and other day tecnica and jumps

In january (pre-competition) the velocity 50 or 60 and long distances 4x150 fast(less weigh)

and february(30, 50 and 60) and 3x150 fast.(less weigh)

Then, I will explain the way of training of my companions of 400, will be more interesting because they do diferent distance..I only do 150..jeej

I will try to help you.

I hope do it well this weekend, thank you!

ok, you have my email if you want, so we don't bore other users of this board! ;-)
it's quite odd, I have already heard a training plan very very similar of yours; I read it on an old number of NSA (New Studies in Athletics, the journal about the technical aspects edited by IAAF), in which was described the chinese system for training sprinters (I don't know if they use yet this approach but sure in mid 90s).
see you in september!
